Bringing dogs to Rose Cottage

Understand the cottage dog limit and charge, then plan responsible walks around your group’s ability and current access advice.

The cottage policy

The current property and booking information allows up to two dogs. The first dog stays free and the second costs £100 per stay. Bring your own dog towels. (Source: Rose Cottage: guest information)

Planning advice Include the correct number of dogs when reviewing a future quote. Confirm any additional house rules with the owner before arranging your stay. This guide does not promise an enclosed garden or unrestricted off-lead access.

Choose a suitable walk

The Fife Coastal Path can be explored in shorter sections. Fife Council notes that walking difficulty varies along the route. (Source: Fife Council: Fife Coastal Path)

Planning advice Check the route and current local signs before setting out. Choose a distance that suits both the dog and the people walking, and plan how you will return. A coastal route should not be treated as universally suitable for every dog, mobility need or weather condition.

Follow the access guidance

NatureScot advises keeping dogs under control, avoiding fields with young livestock, protecting ground-nesting birds and removing dog waste. Read the full guidance for the circumstances of your walk. (Source: NatureScot: dog walking and the Scottish Outdoor Access Code)

Planning advice Keep a lead and waste bags accessible and carry water. If access conditions make your intended route unsuitable, choose another plan rather than relying on an old online recommendation.
